Portraits by Mary Ann Bessler :: Photography for Babies, Children & Families

info

How long does the session last?

Our session may last up to 2 hours, giving time for your child to have snacks, clothing changes or even a little nap. I want you and family to enjoy the process and not feel rushed.

What should my child wear for the photo?

Small babies look best in their birthday suit, or wrapped in a special blanket. If you do choose to have your baby wear a very special outfit, please be sure it is well-fitting so that it does not bunch up. Fancy  collars can be tricky to keep in place and have a way of flipping up near the face.

For older children or groups, jeans or light tan-colored pants work well. A plain sweater or top in a neutral color is best.  Stay away from large prints, logos or enormous stripes, all of these tend to take the focus away from the face.

What is the best time to schedule our photo shoot?

Outdoor sessions are best during the "golden hours" - before 11:00 a.m. or about 2 hours before sundown.

Who should attend the photo shoot?

With too many people in attendance, it's easy for kids to get over-stimulated or distracted. Your photo shoot will go most smoothly if it's just you and your child (and siblings, if appropriate). Let grandparents and other relatives be surprised with the final product!

What should I expect to spend for photos?

The session/creation fee of $125 includes up to 5 people, with a charge of $10 per additional person.

Print prices begin at $20, with a minimum order of $75. Many sizes and packages are available to fit your needs and budget, and will be presented at our initial consultation. Minor retouching is included, with additional fees for extensive retouching.

I am happy to discuss with you any other concerns you may have. Feel free to contact me for more information.
